Nancy was close to my age so her life and journey seemed similar in some ways. Nancy was such an ideal person. Ive never gotten to watch Sewing with Nancy, but I get the emails from her site. Would love to read her book and learn more about her story! "Sewing with Nancy" host Nancy Zieman passed away Nov. 14 after a long battle with cancer. What a wonderful person. Still to this day. What a tribute to a wonderful woman! She was so down to earth and gracious. However, upon reading Seams Unlikely, I felt an even closer connection to Nancy. My daughter is very involved in the Cosplay and she did a wonderful visit with that. If I dont win this book I will order the book so I can read the rest of the story and thank you Mr. Zieman for writing the story. Nancy was such a special person in the lives of so many friends and viewers. I came to appreciate Nancy and her gifts as I learned improved techniques. Today we celebrate Nancy as a businesswoman, home economist, national sewing authority, daughter, niece, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and inspiration to all. Her methods are so senseable and easy to understand. Zieman recorded 35 years of how-to educational programming and it's the longest running sewing show on TV. It would be impossible to have an exact account of how many lives Nancy touched and influenced. I was starstruck by her presence, but over time our other meetings made me appreciate her humbleness, talent and kindness. I have always enjoyed Nancys sewing shows and notions. We have ages 8-14 both boys and girls who are so excited to learn. They were always available to me in Illinois. I am 70 yrs old, and I did meet Nancy at one of her workshops. I caught my love of sewing from my mother and spent many happy summers sewing with her during my teenage years. I got to talk with her at the Sewing Expo in Puyallup, WA. No other tv personalities passing had ever brought me to tears as did Nancys and continues to whenever I think of her.
